   ~Answers to Commonly Asked Questions~

*Garbage & Recycling are picked up Thursday mornings.  If a holiday falls on a Thursday, collection will be held on Friday.

*Water/Sewer/Garbage: There is a $100 utility deposit for every customer papyable to The City of Onslow.  Utility bills are due by the 10th of each month.   Late fees will be charged on accounts not paid in full by the 10th of each month.  Water will be disconnected on the 26th of each month for failure of payment.  To reinstate water connection, a $50 fee will be charged in addition to the bill.

*Parking:  No person shall park a vehicle in a roadway other than parallel with the edge of the roadway headed in the direction of lawful traffic movement and with the right-hand wheels of the vehicle within 18 inches of the curb or edge of roadway.  

*Dogs & Cats:  No person shall allow their dogs and/or cats to run at large.  Dogs must have rabies vaccination and wear current vaccination tags. 

*Nuisances:  There is a whole list of nuisances...use good judgment and keep your property tidy....a good neighbor is a clean neighbor.  :)
   
*Burning:  No person shall allow, cause or permit open burning of combustible materials where the products of combustion are emitted into the open air without passing through a chimney or stack. 

*Recreational Fires:  Open fires for cooking, heating, recreation, and ceremonies are allowed.  Burning of tires, furniture, etc. are not considered "recreational". 

*Sidewalks:  Abutting property owners are responsible to remove snow, ice, and any accumulations promptly from sidewalks.  "Accumulations" includes grass clippings.
